Extended EMDR sessions designed to help you process trauma and move forward — without waiting months to see change.
EMDR Intensives
Who Intensives are a good fit for:
People who've done some therapy already and know what they want to target
Single-incident trauma (accident, medical event, assault, loss)
People with a tight timeline (upcoming trigger, life event, deployment, surgery)
Clients who live outside Dallas and want to do focused work over a short visit
People who find weekly sessions too slow or feel they "lose momentum" between appointments
Clients already in therapy elsewhere who want EMDR-specific work as an adjunct
We'll determine fit together during your screening call
What is an EMDR Intensive?
Most therapy happens in 50-minute weekly sessions. An EMDR intensive condenses that work into longer, focused blocks of time — a half-day, full-day, or multi-day format — so you can process a specific memory, event, or pattern without constantly having to "re-warm up" each week.
What to expect
Screening call — brief consult to make sure an intensive is appropriate and to identify a target
Intake/prep session — history-taking, resourcing, and stabilization skills before the intensive itself
The intensive — extended EMDR processing with built-in breaks
Follow-up session — a shorter session a few days later to check in and integrate
Intensives are built around 90-minute processing sessions, or two 50-minute sessions in one day. Depending on your goals, we can do this as a single-day intensive or spread the sessions across a few days.
Single 90-minute session — one focused block, good for a narrow, well-defined target
Two 50-minute sessions in one day — a morning/afternoon split, useful if you want a built-in break to reset before continuing
Multi-day intensive — sessions (90-minute or paired 50-minute) spread across 2–3 days, for more extensive history or multiple targets

No — but during your screening call, we'll talk through your history and goals to figure out whether an intensive or ongoing weekly sessions is the better starting point for you.
Do I need to have done EMDR before to do an intensive?
1
Intensives are private-pay. They're billed based on the length and number of sessions, which we'll map out together during your screening call based on your goal.
Is this covered by insurance?

What does a session actually look like?

How many sessions will I need?
4
It depends on what you're processing. We'll figure out the right structure — one session, a full day, or multiple days — during your screening call.
What if I get overwhelmed during a session?
5
We build in breaks between sessions, and part of the intake/prep work before your intensive is making sure you have grounding and stabilization skills in place first.
Can I do this virtually?
6
No — intensives are offered in person only at my Dallas office.
